Winners comment : With this work, I really wanted to capture the essence of "timeless love". I wanted to visualise what it means when two people say to each other at the ceremony, "to love in sickness and in health". And to me love is a commitment from the day you say "I love you" when you're 25, to the day you say "I've always loved you" when you're 65. What better way to express this beauty of Love except by showing "the age of love" in two contrasting images of the age of the couple.

Comments from Wacom:
Valentine's Day is all about romance. And few things are more romantic than love that not only endures, but grows stronger over time. This photograph poignantly conveys that ideal in a simple, yet effective way. The attention to detail is excellent, from the wedding shot overlooking Sydney Harbour Bridge, to the slightly weathered hands smartly showing off the man's wedding band. The hope of an ever-lasting love really shined through for us with this piece.

Wacom Wallpaper Contest: 2nd Prize

Comments from Wacom:
This photograph with beautiful colors and wonderful background/foreground lighting composition was transformed into a poignant love story with just three words. We like to think of happy endings to our Valentine love stories, but this photograph leaves the ending a question. The luminance in the foreground and vibrancy of green in the darkness of the background offer us hope, but the leaves collecting on the bench create such irony that we just had to award this photo a prize.

3rd Prize
Prize: Bamboo Fun small (Silver)

Comments from Wacom: A red heart has long been the symbol of love, and by extension, of Valentine's Day. Hearts have been depicted in various ways throughout the years, so we thought we were immune to surprises. However, this photograph was too clever to ignore. Reflecting red light through a wedding ring, while the ring holds open a book (Bible?) was... inspired. And worthy of recognition.
Title: Ring of Love

Winners comments:
The ring having a symbol of forever, from its round shape. The Heart shaped shadow from the ring, symbolizes love, which for me gives the essence of everlasting love. I actually processed the photograph by giving it a reddish glow, for warmth and the feeling of valentines.

Title: The Aging Photo

Winner's comments:
When I started using Photoshop I was caught up in the idea that there was a set method for doing everything; a right and a wrong way of doing things. However, now, having used Photoshop for some time I believe that there aren't any right or wrong ways, just less and more efficient ways. I hope this tutorial encourages people, who are learning digital imaging, to experiment and think creatively when they approach the tools offered by Photoshop so they can produce unique results in their own images.

Comments from Wacom:
You can't see it just yet, but this tip on how to create an antique photo takes a fairly complicated process for Photoshop beginners and makes it quite easy to accomplish. Stay tuned!
